	2008-04-03 Petre Tsiskarishvili and Levan Orkoshneli met with Dimitri Sanakoe Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Mr. Petre Tsiskarishvili and Head of the National Service of Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection of the Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Mr. Levan Orkoshneli met with the Head of the DiDi Liakhvi Temporary Administration 2008-04-03 Senior State Veterinary Inspector met with leadership of local government of Guria re Deputy Head of the National Service of Food Safety, veterinary and Plant Protection Mr. Nikoloz Gugushvili met with chiefs of local municipalities of Lanchkhuti, Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri districts. The main subject discussed on the meeting was about preparedness of necessary measures for vaccination of cattle for especially contagious diseases. 2008-03-28 On the Basis of the Producer request National Service of Food Safety Veterinary and Plant Protection performed state control of the Facility Head of the Food Safety and Quality Supervision Division of the National Service of Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection Mr. Giorgi Mikadze and senior specialist of the Mobile Respond Group Mr. Alexander Odishvili got tranning in USA in the frame of Cochran Fellowship Program from 7 to 22 March, 2007. The field of training was following: 2008-03-21 Senior State Veterinary Inspector Mr. Nukri Gugushvili visited Khulo district to supervise vaccination process Senior State Veterinary Inspector Mr. Nukri Gugushvili visited Khulo district in Adjara were took place business meeting. He also supervised process of vaccination in the district. Mr. Nukri Gugushvili hold meetings with chairman of local authority, farmers and local population regarding spring vaccination process. Because of Khulo is the boarder district the importance of prophylactic vaccination was emphasized at the meeting. 2008-03-20 Deputy Head of the National Service met the staff of Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant protection Service of Adjara During his business trip Deputy Head of the National Service met with the staff of Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection Service of Adjara. Discussions were about the results of last year work and about future plans. 2008-03-19 Deputy Head of the National Service met with the Minister of Agriculture of Adjara Deputy Head of the National Service of Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection Mr. Nukri Gugushvili held the first business trip in Adjara. Meeting was held on 19 April 2008 with Minister of Agriculture of Adjara Mr. Emzar Dzirkvadze. The discussion was about the gaps and problems that have been accumulated in the sphere of food safety, veterinary and plant protection. 2008-03-12 Petre Tsiskarishvili met with staff of the National Service On 12 of March 2008 at the meeting hall of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Mr. Peter Tsiskarishvili met with the staff of the National Service of Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection. The assessment of last year activities has been made on the meeting. Minister thanked staff for effective last year work. 2008-03-07 Seminar in Borjomi In the frames of “Food Safety and Society Awareness Project in Georgia” of the International Center of Civil Culture seminar for the local staff of the National Service has been taken place in Borjomi. Seminar was about media and public relation issues. The following issues were discussed on the seminar: 2008-02-20 Monitoring of iodized salt was finish According to the agreed Working Plan 2006-2010 between Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia and UNICEF and the Annual Working Plan was performed monitoring of iodized salt in the unit trade facilities during 15 August to 30 December 2007 by the National Service of Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection. 2008-01-24 There are caring out preventive measures against Avian Influenza spread in Georgia Because of the Avian Influenza case detection caring out preventive measures against Avian Influenza are strengthened in Georgia. Disinfection measures are strengthened also on the boarder of Turkey. Emergency office against Avian Influenza have been established in Adjara and in all districts of Georgia were hot-line is functioning 24 ours a day. Offices are equipped with disinfection and all necessary measures. [1]
