Risk Management and Communication Division will work out and coordinate food laboratory monitoring united program to determine adverse effect and heaviness probability on the customer’s health by hazards. If it is determined that a product is hazardous for a human’s health (by a laboratory examination results) taking into consideration heaviness of a situation and according to Georgian legislation, takes relevant preventive and corrective measures to reduce, eradicate and prevent risk caused by food products consumption.
RMC Division provides effective performance of Rapid Alert System on the National level.
On the basis of general data on phitosanitary quarantine harmful organisms carries out selection of optimal, alternative measures for reduction of phitosanitary risks.
RMC Division carries out control measures to harmonize Animal Identification and Registration System with appropriate requirements; Presents information about epizootic situation in Georgia as in the country also to the OIE.
In order to provide better awareness of population HRMC Division makes guidelines, pamphlets, articles.
RMC Division provides producers and population with proper information regarding risks and hazards in the spheres of Food Safety, veterinary and Plant Protection.
Risk management or evaluation of phytosanitary risk reduction implies risk-reducing measures working out and the most effective and safe methods application; phytosanitary measures should be minimal and be used at the minimum territory to ensure protection of the zone which is under risk. According to general data, a harmful object is divided into categories whether it is subject to quarantine or it is extremely hazardous. It shall be established detection of a harmful object spreading exact area. According to a harmful object regional spreading, there shall be established risk zones (low, medium, high, buffer zone), phitosanitary risk reduction measures shall be also worked out, evaluated and compared. There shall be detected optimum measures (people’s active participation, integrated measures), it is given attention to measures active application, analyzing (risk – prevention analysis), all the above-mentioned shall be improved.
