Head of the Food Safety and Quality Supervision Division of the National Service of Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection Mr. Giorgi Mikadze and senior specialist of the Mobile Respond Group Mr. Alexander Odishvili got tranning in USA in the frame of Cochran Fellowship Program from 7 to 22 March, 2007. The field of training was following: Management of Food Safety and Quality Supervision Service and its responsibility; Performed measures in regard of Food Safety; Key subjects of export and import and International agreements about them; Risk assessment, management and communication procedures.
Georgian specialists got training with specialists of Food Safety Service of Armenia. Trainings were supported and funded by USDA. Trainees accompanying with USDA local specialists visited cattle farms, meat, diary, fruit and vegetable facilities and supermarkets. Training place was Nashville and Nokesville. By the Professors of Nokesville University, Teneses state, was given trainings about HACCP Systems, main purposes of its creation and functioning. Trainees visited food and drinking water laboratories and Drinking water Central Building.
